What’s the difference between a Mini Session and a Regular Session?
Quick Answer - Mini sessions a few times a year with a specific theme. These sessions are shorter, lasting about 15 minutes. On mini-session days, we schedule multiple families with a five-minute grace period between each session. If you're looking for a longer session, our regular sessions are up to an hour and can be scheduled at any time of the year, subject to my availability. Regular sessions are designed to meet your family's specific needs.
Every photographer has their unique way on how they run their Minis. I believe in providing an intimate and comfortable experience for our clients. That's why I've decided early on that my mini sessions are primarily conducted in the studio. By capturing moments indoors, we can ensure a controlled environment where families can relax and feel at ease.
Living in Amarillo, I understand the challenges that our unpredictable weather can bring. Our wind can be relentless, making outdoor sessions less than ideal, especially when we're on a time crunch and have multiple families to photograph. But, every now and then, I may be brave enough to gamble with the wild weather and offer outdoor mini-sessions. It's not impossible, but it requires careful planning and flexibility. So, if you're up for an outdoor adventure, be prepared for some excitement as we capture beautiful moments amidst nature's unpredictability.
My mini-sessions are a great option if you want a few images of your children or an updated family picture. These sessions usually take place in the spring and winter. I change the backdrop every year so that your photos feel fresh and not repetitive. If you tend to be a last-minute planner our minis are for you. My minis are usually held 2-3 weeks before the holiday. Our winter mini setup is versatile, so you can dress in family pajamas, casual attire, or even your Sunday best.
Minis are quick 15 minutes will feel like 5. I like to say time goes by fast when you’re having fun. It’s true. If I was doing a 15-minute plank, it would feel like a lifetime. Thankfully that’s not the case. Unfortunately, with the time crunch, we have to end at 15 minutes because I have to prepare for the next family.
If you don’t like feeling rushed or don’t want to get ready for 15 minutes, an hour session will be the one for you and your family.
