Through the storm
For a moment, we weren't sure if this session was going to take place. This day was one of those panhandle bipolar weather days. If you have lived in the area long enough, you know that we can have all four seasons in one day. The day started clear with a chance of rain. By now, we should know that it means it will pour rain or miss us completely. That morning I looked out, and the sky was clear, so I thought I was in the clear. The next thing I knew, by noon, the clouds started rolling in. So what do I do next? I check the weather app. It looks like it is going to rain in our area. My thought was, oh great. So then I look deeper into the radar, and it seems like the storm will pass by evening.
I kept in touch with the client about the weather. Safety is the most important thing. So my thought process was if there were any chance it was lightening at the time of the session, we would have the reschedule. That would have been a slight hiccup because we needed to do it on this particular day for many reasons. One of the main factors was the session was a surprise for her mother's birthday—what a fantastic gift, a gift that will last a lifetime. Now, let us get back to my thought process, safety first. So chance of thunder it's a no-go. If the storm passes and there is no chance of thunder and lightning, we will continue the session. Luckily for us, the storm has passed. Great! It was time for the magic.
Now in all my blogs, I try to make a point because I tend to ramble, and I am everywhere. The point of this blog is as long as it is safe, I am down to photograph in any condition. As much as I love the golden sunset hour, we can create your perfect session in any weather. It reminds me a lot of life because it's unexpected messy, yet beautiful.
