I hope this year is shaping up to be just as amazing as the last. Reflecting on 2024, I’m thrilled to say we ended the year with a bang! One of the biggest milestones for Vanessa Underwood Photography was officially celebrating the grand opening of our photo studio in collaboration with the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

How Did We Get Here?

It’s funny how life connects the dots for us in unexpected ways. In what feels like a completely different lifetime, I worked a traditional 9-to-5 job. At that point, I knew I was destined to do something creative, but I wasn’t quite sure what it was. While working there, I began searching for my true passion.

Believe it or not, I thought I wanted to become a forensic photographer! (That’s a story for another time.) But this idea set me on the photography path I’m on today, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Now, you might be wondering: what’s the connection between my 9-to-5 job and this milestone with the Chamber of Commerce? Well, the branch I worked at shared office space with the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Little did I know back then, this organization would play such a significant role in celebrating the growth of my photography business.

Rebranding and Renewing Commitments

Last year, I made a commitment to myself and my business: I promised to make it the best year yet. Part of that involved a major rebrand, including our name change to Vanessa Underwood Photography. I also invested in mentorship with an amazing local photographer, Britnicole, focusing on elevating my craft and providing the best, most seamless experience for you, the client.

I kept true to my mission—to serve the incredible mothers and families in Amarillo, Texas, and the surrounding panhandle area with heartfelt, artistic maternity and newborn photography.
